On May 22, 2017 a team of the LSoI Foundation participated in National round table: The National Strategy for Roma Integration 2012-2020 five years later: How far have we reached and where are we heading?, held in the EU Information Center in Sofia.
The meeting was opened by Kadrin Hasanov, Program Coordinator at Integro Association and had two sessions. The first session – How far have we reached with the implementation of the NSRI and Roma integration? – included an overview of the EC reports’ recommendations related to the implementation of the NSRF and the Specific Recommendations to Bulgaria within the framework of a Discussion on “What has Bulgaria been short of so far in order to carry out an effective Roma integration? ” The second session – Where are we heading? – covered the following two issues: “What policy will Bulgaria continue to implement in relation to Roma by 2020 and beyond?” and “Can there be a successful cohesion policy for Bulgaria without effective Roma inclusion?”. The meeting ended with summarizing and approving general recommendations for further discussion of the inclusive policies and the cohesion policy during the Bulgarian Presidency of the European Council in 2018.
