A team of Dimitar Georgiev, Vesselin Trendafilov and Stefan Hristov visited our partner in “INTEGRO” – Razgrad. The purpose of our trip was to discuss on site one of the initiatives for purchasing land in village Bulgarene. The land was just over 3 dkas with wall nut trees (2 years old). The applicant – a woman from Roma origin, wanted to grow a wall nut orchard. The selling price of the plot was 6500 BGN which compared to other region of Bulgaria was very high. Further research revealed that in the surroundings of Bulgarene there was no free land for sale which justified the high price. Most of the agricultural land was purchased by big farmers, and not much free plots remained. Nevertheless the plot with the wall trees was very close to the village with easy access. The applicant had an experience considering her yard with lots vegetables and orchards. This confirmed my positive attitude for the initiative. The initiative would be further fulfilled by our partner “INTEGRO” – Razgrad.

Another proposal was to fund the purchase of a packing machine for nuts. The proposal came from an from the town of Senovo, where we had already funded the delivery of two other machines.
