A steering committee meeting within Roma Income Generation and Integration project was held on August 28 in Plovdiv. The committee members discussed the implementation of the planned project activities.\u00a0 Monitoring of the progress of current economic initiatives was reported. New applications, received between May and July 2013 were in the focus of the discussion \u2013 some of them already approved and financed, others \u2013 still at an initial stage of development. The scope of the RIGI project was enlarged through the signing of six new contracts and the inclusion of three more participants.<\/span><\/p>\n In that period the LSoI Foundation team provided 89 on-the-spot agrotechnical, 39 legal, and 80 economic consultations.<\/span><\/p>\n Kroum Hristov and Dimiter Georgiev further elaborated on the frurther development of the Integrated Model for Small Business Support (IM4SBS) in Plovdiv region.<\/span><\/p>\n Georgi Georgiev presented a project application, in cooperation with Plovdiv District Administration, to be submitted to the Life Long Learning Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n Ongoing useful cooperation with Indi-Roma 97 Foundation in the village of Kouklen was reported, where a sum of 2000 leva was invested in a joint programme for encouraging and enabling Roma women to apply for jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n The dissemination of the agro-economic model of the IRCtEI project in Bulgaria and the partners\u2019 economic initiatives were presented by Veselin Trendafilov. Alongside the progress of the current initiatives, new proposals were presented for cooperation with Drom Foundation in Vidin, Largo Foundation in Kyustendil, Integro Association in Razgrad, Budeshte Foundation in Rakitovo.<\/span><\/p>\n The framework of a draft project proposal was discussed in the end of the meeting.
