In November 2017, joint monitoring visits were carried out to partner organizations in Bulgaria within the project Roma Income Generation and Integration.

The monitoring was carried out together with representatives of the Trust for Social Achievement Foundation.

The visits were carried out on 06.11.2017 at New Way Association in the village of Hayredin, on 07.11.2017 at Largo Association in the town of Kyustendil, on 09.11.2017 at World Without Borders Association in Stara Zagora, on 10.11.2017 at Bolni ot astma Foundation in Yambol and on 14.11.2017 at Future Foundation in Rakitovo.

A review of the project documentation and the implemented initiatives was made at every partner’s location. Individual initiatives and their development were discussed. Site visits and interviews with the beneficiaries about the support obtained and their future plans were carried out. Some newly-launched initiatives were selected and visits were made to evaluate their launch.

The evaluation of the work of the partner organizations done at the time and after the visits showed that very good results were achieved locally; most of the business initiatives were successful; and a significant number of them had been fully paid back by the beneficiaries. Some problematic business initiatives were analyzed and recommendations on how to overcome the difficulties in their implementation were made, as well as some advice aimed at further improvement of the partners’ work in future,
