LSoI Foundation took part in the annual international agricultural exhibition AGRA 2011 on March 9 – 13 in the Plovdiv International Fair. Our stand presented the book series Land – Source of Income targeted at small farmers. The series includes books describing the techniques for growing and protection of vegetables, vineyards and orchards .

During AGRA exhibition the Land Source of Income foundation traditionally organizes a round table in partnership with the District Administation of Plovdiv. This year’s round table took place on March 11 in conference hall 2 of pavillion 6. It topic was Suppoting Small Farmers in Bulgaria. Two main issues were discussed:

• Opportunities and results of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 in support of small farming;
• Common Agricultural Policies after 2013 – prospective development of small farming.

The meeting was opened by Mr. Iliyan Ivanov from the Administrative Control. Regional Development and State Properties Directorate at the District Governor’s Administration in Plovdiv.

Both the participation of LSoI Foundation in AGRA 2011 and the organization of the round table are financed by America for Bulgaria Foundation within the framework of the project Roma Income Generation and Integration.
